Our beginner musical theatre classes incorporate acting, singing, and dancing. We will provide young students with a supportive environment to be introduced to musical theatre and to learn and work on these skills. Students will apply their imagination, creativity, and musical theatre knowledge to explore various characters, voices, scenes, songs, dances, circumstances, stories, warm-ups, and games.

Throughout these sessions, students may engage in warm-ups, drama games, character development activities, scene work, monologue study, storytelling, mock auditions, playwriting, and improvisation. Singing is an essential part of an actor’s skill set. The focus of these group classes is on vocal technique, performance technique, acting through song, music vocabulary, ear-training, sight-singing, and music literacy. Through the rehearsal of musical theatre repertoire with a concentration on healthy singing, students will develop these critical vocal skills.
